LEADERSHIP
PRACTICUM REQUIREMENTS CHECKSHEET
The following must be accomplished in fulfilling the Practicum requirements:
___1. Complete the Information Sheet return to the instructor within the first 10 days of the semester.
___2. Have the acceptance agreement signed by the public school cooperating administrators with whom you will be working and return to the instructor within the first 10 days of the semester.
___3. Work as an instructional leader 50 clock hours during the term. These hours will be distributed as follows:
10
hours at the level where the practicum student works.
20 hours at each of the other two levels for a total of 40 hours. Working at the elementary/middle and high school levels will add up to the 50 hours.
Each student must complete acceptable work in at least ten of the administrative
activity areas.
___4. Maintain daily log of activities and accomplishments during the period. The log must reflect work in the activity areas and must be signed by your cooperating administrator. Personal reactions concerning the activity MUST be included.
___5. Locate and describe 10 educational administration related websites. A description of the website needs to be included in the portfolio. Such description needs to include:
strengths of the website
weaknesses
possible benefits to a future school administrator
sample of the material found at the website
___6. Develop a project and the activities necessary to complete this project during the semester. The project should be beneficial to your school and to your internship experience. This must first be submitted in an outline form and approved by the cooperating administrator and the supervising professor. Project must be developed, completed, documented, and submitted in final form before the grade will be assigned for this course.
___7. Complete the FINAL INSTALLMENT of the log including the following:
a. Conclusions concerning your professional growth during the semester.
b. Three strengths and three weaknesses in your administrative practicum experience.
c. A list of the educational administration related websites
d. Final copy of the project.
___8. Attend any designated practicum seminars, which may be required. Participate fully in activities, research, and class interactions.
___9. Make satisfactory progress, in the opinion of the professor and the cooperating administrator toward handling LEADERSHIP functions and assignments, especially meeting deadlines and due dates.
