All teacher applicants for initial certification in Kentucky shall complete the PRAXIS II Examination in the appropriate specialty area and the Principles of Learning and Teaching PRAXIS test, meeting the standards set by the Kentucky State Department of Education (704 KAR 20:305).

Before enrolling in 300 and above education courses, students must apply for and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. Included among the requirements are at least a 2.5 overall GPA and completion of selected courses.
