Dr. Janelle Hare
My husband is an archaeologist who has worked in Central Mexico and the Yucatan peninsula (not to be confused with the much less well- known “Yukon” peninsula of Mexico). I like to go visit him, climb pyramids and live in dirt-floored, cement block-walled houses with scorpions & tarantulas. And eat Mexican food from street vendors so I have some foodborne disease case studies and songs to use in class.
Okay, so I also enjoyed our trip to Cancun.
Note to self: don’t try to snorkle for the first time when 7.5 months pregnant! Climbing pyramids is also right out. Here I am firmly attached to the ground.
On top of old Smoky... No, wait.

I love seeing cacti paddles harden and turn into a ‘tree’. Cacti are also yummy in tacos!
