Plagiarism tutorial (where you get the certificate to hand in for EDF600):

Kentucky State Department of Education reports -- on-line reports of school data --  test scores of all kinds,
school performance reports, and more.  Good for gathering data from school districts all over the state.
You can get data for individual schools, grades, broken down by gender, and many other variables.

On-line literature searching:

  • ERIC/EBSCO -- educational literature, many full text articles
  • ERIC -- not through EBSCO, full text of unpublished documents since 1993, plus journal references
  • SearchERIC -- another ERIC search engine
  • EBSCO Full Text -- actual full articles, not just abstracts (but limit it to the Academic Search Premier database for your research paper in EDF600 or EDF610)
  • PsycINFO -- psychological literature
  • Google Scholar -- the power of Google focused on research literature!
  • List of electronic journals

On-line statistical analysis of data -- a long list of possibilities for on-line analysis -- listed below are
some specific tests from this site:

The correlation and regression calculator gives you the mean and variance for both variables, as well
as the Pearson's correlation value.  It does not give a p value.

           Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test (non-parametric dependent t-test, essentially) --

Graph pad quick calcs -- my favorite on-line statistical analysis program -- listed below are specific
                                           tests from Graph pad:

The t-tests below will also give you the means and standard deviations for your groups.
          Unpaired (2-sample, independent) t-test -- http://graphpad.com/quickcalcs/ttest1.cfm?Format=C
          Paired (1-sample, dependent) t-test -- http://graphpad.com/quickcalcs/ttest1.cfm?Format=C

Qualitative data for analysis -- from the EDF 600 textbook companion website; scroll down left side
"Analyzing Qualitative Data" and click on it.

Extended campus library services (where off-campus students can ask for MSU materials)

Educational songs from a variety of disciplines (to go along with EDF610 Chapter 7
                      on information-processing)

Bem Sex Role Inventory -- take and score it yourself.  Column A is masculinity, Column B is
femininity, Column C is neutral.
Masculinity more than 4.9, but Femininity less than 4.9 = Masculine identity
Femininity more than 4.9, but Masculinity less than 4.9 = Feminine identity
Both scores greater than 4.9 = Androgynous identity
Both scores less than 4.9 = Undifferentiated identity

Pygmalion in the Classroom -- think teacher expectations of students don't matter?  Take a look at this!
