This page is dedicated to science.  It is geared  to students, but there is a section for teachers also.  The teachers could use the activities in the student section for the students in their own classrooms.  BrainPop is a site set up to look like cartoon characters.  There are several characters that are the hosts.  There are sections such as movies, activities, and testing materials.   The students can come to this site and print what they learned to show to the class.  It will ask the students if he/she wants to print the activity.

This site can be really useful to a science teacher.  I used this site for an assignment.  I had to do a mini-teach for my media strategies class and I used an activity from this site.  The “students” that I had to teach enjoyed the activity.  I think students will like this site too.  I know that I really liked playing around on this site, I learned from the site too.

I chose this website because I am studying to be an elementary teacher with a science component.  I think this website would be very useful to teachers and students.  I like the concept of teaching the students that there are microorganisms around them everyday.  It gives them everyday examples of where these organisms  lurk.  This site can be very fun and informative to the students in my class one day.

This site is very helpful to educators. There is a lot of information about education, which a teacher does not have time to keep up with during the regular school day. This site can answer many questions about procedures, terminology, assessment, expectations, etc. for educators. It also keeps them informed of grant opportunities and workshops.  For parents, this site offers a calendar of events and reports of the CATS assessment and the school report card as well as keeping them up to date about the happenings in education. Although it does not offer much directly for students, with the exception of the Virtual Library, students benefit indirectly through teachers and parents. I chose to look further and found a section on holidays. This part of the website gave me a long list of websites that I could go to in order to get ideas for Christmas projects and lessons. This website was very informative, creative, and would definitely be useful to any teacher.

I picked this website because I thought it would be interesting to see the different option available to teachers. I found this website to be one of the most useful of the sites that I looked over. I feel that it would be very helpful to teachers of all grades and subjects. There are sample lesson plans, project ideas, and example test questions. This was a really good website and I would recommend it to any teacher.

This website was full of information a teacher could use to access the materials they might need for their class. This site gave many different ways of getting books and other project materials that are necessary to teach the lessons provided on this site. It also has a section that is called “Cyber Guide”. They had these for K-3 grade, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12. This divided the sections up so that it would be easier for one to access the information they might need. There were also student and teacher evaluations. This allowed the students and teachers to evaluate the cyber guides after they had finished. This was an interesting website.

I picked this website because I thought it would be interesting to see the different option available to teachers. I found this website to be useful if a teacher were wanting to find information but not really get a lot of creative ideas. This was more about assessments. But it was certainly an informative and precise website. This would definitely be a website I would recommend to a teacher wanting to find a certain book. I would use it as a teacher.

This site is specifically for teachers and kids in grades K-8.  It includes many educational games, such as Math Baseball and Grammar Gorillas.  The games are even divided into age and subject groups.  Funbrain.com includes a curriculum guide for teachers to help choose games appropriate for their needs.  This guide is grouped by title, subject, and grade level.  Teachers can make quizzes for their students to take and students can login with a username and a password to take the quizzes.  The results are calculated and emailed to you (the teacher).  There is even a page for parents to take quizzes about kids and give tips to help parents be more involved in their child’s education.

My aunt told me about this website.  She has been a teacher of fourth and fifth grade in Columbus, Oh for over 20 years.  I especially liked this site because it had a page for parents to get tips on how to help their children through things like writer’s block.

This site was very informing and insightful. Since I am majoring in Special Education I try to look for helpful hints for dealing with these types of children. Anything to get them to keep with me and not lose interest is great to know. One of the first lessons plans gets the parents, the students, and the teachers all on the same page. Fix a folder with all the assignments and activities and a progress report stapled in it. Send it home with the student everyday to be initialed by the student, parent, and teacher each day. So if there is ever a problem no one will be shocked about it.

I picked this site because when I got to the home page it was warm and inviting. It had a section for the students, the parent as well as the teachers. I like the fact that this site wants to keep everyone on the same page and working together for the progress of the student.

This site mainly focused on the purpose and the art of a lesson plan. What are the students getting out of this lesson plan and what will they take away from it in the long run. All the lesson plans have never been done before with in the past year so you can’t redo the same assignment that another teacher done a few days before. Which tends to happen form time to time. This site also grades the different lesson plans on creativity and comprehension, productivity as well as an over all score. It also includes a peoples choice score.

The reason I choose this site was because it was creative and original. Which something you need to be a teacher. Staying fresh and loose is one of the keys to this site all the sites are graded before they are submitted to the site. None are used more than twice in the same school so it says. I thought it was really good site.

This site was to open up the students. If you are a new teacher and these students are not used to your style of teaching you have to start with a house warming assignment. So the kids can get to know you and decide if they want anything to do with you. First impressions are very important to children. The activity is to make a puppet and introduce this puppet as yourself and make the puppet have the same features as you do and identify with the puppet. You get the gist of it, besides it helps to put a little of your own ideas in to the project.

The reason I choose this site is because it had an activity for First year Teachers. That is what all of us are going to be so we do not know what to expect from our first year students. This really stood out to me because I would love for the children to just love me from the beginning, but it does not work that way. This way it will speed up the process.

Once you arrive at this site’s database of teaching resources, you can search easily for a specific subject, instead of simple, generalized headings. Reaching this database, though, is the problem. The front page is very long and cluttered. It might take a first-time viewer several minutes to reach the link they are looking for, but with such a giant database, the wait it well worth it.

I included this site because of its large selection of education resources and the user’s ability to search for the specific plan they are looking for quickly and easily.

This site gives these educators a chance to post their favorite drama lesson plans and to read the lesson plans of others. The plans range in age groups from as low as second grade to high school level, where the students are comfortable acting on a stage. While the selection is small, the site is well-laid out and not confusing at all. The lack of a search feature does not present a problem, as the lesson plans can all be accessed easily from a single page.

This is a good site because it really challenges kids in the area where kids  struggle.  By having them learn in a game they won’t realize that they are  learning they just want to win the game.  This site will help to improve or  enhance children in certain areas without their knowledge.  By having fun in  the classroom the kids will enjoy learning and have a blast!

The reason I picked this site was because of the availability of a newsletter for unemployment listings.  The mailing list will send you one email every  two weeks.  In the message you will find information about those searching for a job in the education field and administrators searching for qualified educational professionals.  This would be helpful for administrators and college graduates.

This web site is to be a helpful resource for teachers.  Included in this site  are numerous subjects and seasonal lesson plans for all grade levels.  Each general subject has a variety of specific lessons.  So a teacher isn’t limited to the same lessons.  Also, lesson plans can be added therefore there are always new lesson plans available.

With a site like this available, no teacher should have to worry abut having to use the

same lesson plans over and over again.  This site is full of exciting, fun, and educational lesson plans for any grade which makes it a useful site for both experienced teachers and beginning teachers.

This site gives teachers on almost any topic they are looking for.  Better book report ideas, literature lessons for every grade, for awkward time frames there are mini lessons, how to explain the inexplicable to students.  This is a very helpful site for any teacher. No matter what subject a teacher is teaching, this site will be helpful.  The best part of this site is that there is more than just regular assignments.

I liked this site because it is very helpful for both new teachers and experienced teachers.  I think that it gives them a new outlook at some new assignments that can keep the students interested.

This is a wonderful site for kids, parents, and teachers. The resources include seasonal crafts. Shown now are winter crafts and projects like snowman e-cards and a recipe for winter cookie pops. Also, different cultural holidays are recognized and there are projects for these occasions. There are also food and color  themes with coloring books available for reproducing. There was also a site for homemade holiday gifts.  The God Bless America site was very interesting with suggestions on how to talk to a child about the news and understanding violence. Flags can be printed out and other resources ordered for classroom or home. ChildFun is naturally the site it says it is!

The worst distraction was advertising that kept coming up, but getting past that can keep a child occupied with meaningful projects. The resources for teachers and parents is outstanding with many great ideas and lesson plans. There is enough information in this site to give a classroom teacher a year of great activities.

The Scholastic web site is not just about books. For teachers there are lesson plans and reproduceable resources. Online activities include internet field trips that are guided tours to the best classroom -appropriate Web sites. Each trip provides suggestions for teaching specific topics. Of course, there are book reviews that are very colorful and graphic and include “meet the author” site, challenges, Speak Up rooms, and even screen savers of their favorite book character. For parents there are the “Family Living” and “Ways to Play” sections. Children can enjoy these many activities as well as games and contests that are offered. These sites are made suitable for grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.

I love this site because it promotes reading with different projects, but also gives insightful activities for teachers and parents. It is also dedicated to different age levels. Scholastic has many resources available within their site. This is a great way to promote reading and explore the internet!

This site is available for youth, educators, and family. It contains projects for  teachers and individual activities for interested students. The site can be translated into several languages because the main focus is building inter-personal networks with peers around the world. There are 86 public mailing lists for  interactions and an online art exhibition site. One activity  I enjoyed is how to communicate with parents and grandparents. The child is given ideas used by others. Other topics are:

a.    local people and local lifestyles

b.   How are computers and internet used where you live?

c.your teachers, what you like and do not like about them

d.   animal rights and human rights

Children have major access from this site to explore how children live in 144 countries.

I picked this site because of its wide diversity around the world. What a great way for children to learn about different countries and cultures! This is in the secondary school level and incorporates teachers and parents as volunteers to monitor sites and answer questions. Kidlink makes it possible for a child to travel the world via  the internet.
